The Aeros are a proud race with a belligerent history in which the Sky Lords fought for supremacy in century-long feuds. Each Sky Lord rules over a Sky City of which the greatest is Izar, the domain of the Sky King. Located on top of the mountain peaks, the Sky Cities are an awe-inspiring collection of cloud-reaching spires and spiralling walkways.
The Aeros society has a strict hierarchy placing high value on military tradition and physical ability. The winged, flying Aeros are known as the True Aeros and they form the ruling class and military elite of the Aeros. The Aeros born without wings belong to the servile Earthblood class and are despised by the True Aeros. Despite their low status, the Wingless perform an important function in Aeros society, doing all the manual labor as well as filling the ranks of the Aeros infantry. The wingless Aeros are more numerous and do all the manual labour, while the winged Aeros are concerned with warfare and politics.
Aeros Sky Lancers are disciplined elite warriors who charge the enemy from above on top of their fearsome Blue Aergos mounts. The Sky Lancers tend to come from the wealthier families as their steeds and armor are expensive to acquire and maintain. The Sky Lancers of Izar are the most famous and skilled of all the Sky Lancers.
