The land of the dying sun
On the plane of Kalnoth, the sun has already begun to burn out. It casts everything in a harsh red light. The plane was perhaps once very hospitable, but much of the vegetation has died off. Temperatures are reported to be cool. An species of large ant like insects is reported to be the only known native animal life. Tectonic activity (earthquakes) and fierce changes in weather are also reported to be common.
Surveyor's notes: Some large unknown devices were found to be tunneling into the planet, which is likely the source of the tectonic activity. One scientist submitted a report that the machines were digging by converting matter to nexus energy. His theory suggests that the machines are capable of eventually converting the entire planet into energy, and then the resulting aetheric field would destroy the Nexus as we know it...which would cause reality to cease existing or some idiotic nonsense. I'm submitting his report for review, but I'm sure this is not important.
